Troop VA9020
AHG Troop VA9020 has been active since 2011. Our troop's Charter Organization is Orchard Hills Church, in Botetourt County, VA. Our current membership includes girls from Kindergarten through High School, and families from Roanoke and the surrounding communities.
Our activities include twice-monthly troop meetings, community service projects, special events and outdoor experiences. We provide opportunities for the girls to earn achievement badges, sports pins, faith awards, and service stars, as well as to participate in a Pen Pal program. We also have a "Brother Troop" in Trail Life USA Troop VA-3021, which also meets at Orchard Hills Church on the same day and time. We have strong parental involvement, with each member family serving in a volunteer position.
All members of the Troop Ministry Team are registered AHG Members, with a completed background check, child protection training, and training pertinent to their role.
Our troop meetings run from August through May, with Court of Awards Ceremonies in December and June.
